What can you tell me about your fees and how do you accept insurance?
The short answers is that I do not accept insurance. I do that for a variety of reasons which you can explore more on my fees page.
The longer answer is that I can provide you with out of network billing documents that you can provide to your insurance company for direct reimbursement. A lot of folks are not aware of the out of network benefits. This free tool from Thrizer can help you verify your benefits - it is a third party app that can eventually help you with reimbursement as well should you choose to use that. There are many different applications out there like this that aim to make it easier for people to get out of network benefits.
All of my fees are listed transparently throughout my website and we will discuss this in our initial consult call as well. I do have limited availability for those with financial need - so please ask if that might be an option for you.
How would you describe yourself as a therapist?
“The first thing that comes to mind is authentic. I value authenticity so much in my day to day life and I always want to bring that into the therapy room. I don’t think I could do what I do as a therapist if I wasn’t being true to who I am. I also think that I am humorous, caring, and practical. I aim to bring high doses of empathy, with a splash of practicality and realness and finish it off with laughter. Therapy is hard work for me and for the client, but it is worth it. YOU are worth it. “
